Here are some quick facts about the first generation Civic:
- The first generation last 7 years, from 1973 to 1979.
- Due to the 1973 oil crisis, demand for efficient vehicles was high, and the Civic filled the niche perfectly.
- The Civic could run on either leaded or unleaded fuel.
- The Civic's CVCC engine was able to meet emission requirements without requiring a catalytic converter.
- Honda was initially considering leaving the automotive industry, however the popularity of the Civic kept them in.
As you can probably guess, the Civic is a big reason why our dealership, and all Honda dealerships, exist today. For that, we are grateful, and will always have a soft spot for it.
